Phoenix Future Professional Still in the Running for $50,000 from Pepsi Refresh Project

Paul Mitchell Future Professional Rebecca Kahn has a dream – and with the click of a button, you can help her make it come true.

Rebecca, a Future Professional at Paul Mitchell The School – Phoenix and a military spouse, started A Pink Heart, a nonprofit organization that will provide free or low-priced beauty services to military spouses across the nation. She featured A Pink Heart in her winning Beacon entry, and now it’s a contender in Pepsi’s “Refresh Everything” project.

A Pink Heart entered the contest in July but did not receive enough votes to win. Becky thought the contest was over, but she was notified on August 1 that she's still in the running for another month.

“This morning, I thought the Pepsi Refresh Project was over,” she said. “I was just getting ready to write a thank-you letter to everyone who has spent the last month voting, spreading the word, and being so supportive. To my surprise in our inbox I received a message: WE ARE STILL IN FOR THE MONTH OF AUGUST! I believe in life that everything happens for a reason. When I feel like giving up, something amazing happens for me to push forward and continue to dream. Here it is. We have a second chance. We can do it! Please vote once again every day from now until August 31. Please help spread the world.”

If A Pink Heart makes it to the top 10, Rebecca will receive a $50,000 grant to help her spread the program to salons across the country and fund a mobile salon that will bring beauty to military spouses everywhere.
